Park & Ride Service Linking Mainland and Galveston

Mall of the Mainland Park and Ride with service to

• University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB)
• Downtown Galveston
  • Shearn Moody Plaza @ 25^th Street and The Strand
  • ANICO
  • Galveston City Hall
• Island Transit Transfer Stop- Broadway & 53^rd Street

Mall of the Mainland is located at 10000 Emmett F. Lowery, Texas City, TX.  The Park and Ride designated parking lot of 200 spaces is at the northwest corner of the mall near Sears Department Store.

Monday through Friday, schedule change effective Monday, September 14^th, there will be four morning trips and four afternoon trips with one midday trip at noon.  See schedule below.

Trip fare:   $2.00 per passenger one way
Free transfers to Galveston’s Island Transit fixed-route system and Mainland Connect fixed routes

There are two additional schedule changes to note.  The first morning 5:45 a.m. trip and last evening 7:30 p.m. trip between Mall of the Mainland and UTMB will be express services with less stops and slightly shorter travel times.  For employees and visitors whose destination is Schlitterbahn and Moody Gardens the Island Transit Transfer Stop at Broadway and 53^rd connects with the fixed route service (Route 7) to these two destinations.

Passengers can ride the commuter service dubbed “Island Connect” to Galveston and let professionals deal with the traffic while they read, work or rest on the commute to and from Galveston.  The transit service provides commuters with an inexpensive alternative to get to work on Galveston Island as both employment and traffic congestion increase.
